FPE Semi Faceless for Genesis 9

Building on the concept introduced in FPE Faceless for Genesis 9, FPE Semi Faceless extends it into a versatile storytelling tool. This pack includes two Geografts that remove either the eyes or the mouth (or both) from any Genesis 9 character, creating a partial, stylized appearance. Use it to add mystery to foreground characters or to reduce visual noise in background crowds.
To enhance the effect, the set also includes shaders, textures, and masks that bring expressive detail to the otherwise smooth surface, allowing emotion and intent to come through even in the absence of key facial features.
Create Crowds
One use of Semi Faceless is to simplify the creation of background characters. These simplified figures let you fill scenes quickly without focusing on detailed faces. By instancing multiple characters and lowering their resolution, you can build convincing crowds without overloading your system.
The skin materials included are intentionally simple (with 2K Maps), available in multiple tones via settings, and can be further streamlined for performance. When using the eye-removal geograft, stylized mouth materials help convey emotion clearly. When using the mouth-removal geograft, stylized eye materials help direct attention and indicate gaze, even in background scenes.
Stylized Expression and Mood
As with the original Faceless set, this pack includes stylized expressions that can be applied via a Glow Shell or directly onto the skin using the makeup channel as stamps. These are perfect for signaling mood; whether a crowd feels hostile, neutral, or welcoming, these masks will cover it!
A Tool for Storytelling
Beyond crowds, FPE Semi Faceless shines as a narrative device. It can create mystery by obscuring an antagonist's identity while still presenting a striking visual presence. It can also represent face blindness in a unique and impactful way. Or it can depict emotional detachment, a character so distracted that faces no longer register.
Whatever the story, we hope this product can help you tell it!
