Notre Dame Cathedral Exterior

Begun in 1163, the cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris is considered one of the landmark achievements of Gothic architecture. Initially completed in 1260, after nearly 100 years of construction, Notre Dame has survived revolutions, pillaging, neglect, and fire over its nearly 900 years of history.

Now it rises again, both on the Île de la Cité in the River Seine, and in the virtual realm with this historically accurate digital reproduction.

Built to scale, and featuring intricate architectural detail, this model consists of multiple parts that can be loaded all at once or individually as needed. Moreover, small details can be hidden or deleted separately from the base structure for distant shots where they are less visible, reducing system strain and render times. Both a full-poly model, as well as lower poly base mesh, presets are provided.

Additionally, two utilities are included for turning on or off the emissive window glow for all stained glass windows at once, saving you setup time.

This product contains only the exterior architectural elements of Notre Dame, including rain spout gargoyles, but does not come with any statuary figures, or interior features, which will be available separately.

Notre Dame de Paris is scheduled for reopening in December 2024, after five years of reconstruction following the horrific fire of 2019. Now you, too, can restore Notre Dame to its full glory in digital 3D.
